Between The Trees

Filed in Nature | Photography Leave a comment

The night before I toke this photograph a small snowfall covers partially this beautiful forest, the morning light was amazing, it was a cold and cloudy day but under the trees the visibility was really great. Without any sign of usual mist I was able to capture even the most distance trees with great detail.

Tines de Solanes

I took this photo really close to Talamanca’s torrent (Catalonia), just in the middle of no where. It’s curious to see how during the XVIII century a lot of stone-made wine vats where builded like that, without a farm house close to it.

The reason was that during that period of time there were vineyards everywhere and to avoid logistic problems they decided to produce the wine close to vineyards. These lonely constructions were very usual on the Montcau Valleys but more rare on other parts of Catalonia.

I already add this photo into the wallpapers, so you are free to download it at any time.

Door Down To Earth

Filed in Photography | Travel Leave a comment

This week I would like to show you another photograph from my recent visit to Castellcir, I took this shot from what it was the main entrance of this medieval castle. When I first arrived in front of the door I toke a look around and I get caught up in the amazing view that they had up there.

Immediately I realized two things, I wanted to take a photo from that landscape at sunset (By the way, I’m planning to process and make that photograph ready to show to you in the next days), and that I wanted another shot from inside the castle making clear the high position where the castle was builded.

I arrived there almost by sunset and the sun was at the same altitude that us, this gave me the opportunity to capture this second door of light having the same high as the real door.

It’s also amazing to see how wear down are all the floor stones after one thousand years of sun, wind and usage.

I already add this photo into the wallpapers, so you are free to download it at any time.

Circles Within Circles

Filed in Abstract | Photography Leave a comment

A few days ago, while searching the Web for inspiration I founded several nice abstracts done by oil and water macro shots. I already tried this technique a low time ago but I decided to do it again. I had been shooting this kind of shots during the whole last week and the next shoot is an example of what I get on those sessions.

Hopefully you enjoy this kind of abstract art as much as I do, personally I think that this technique can produce similar photos from one shot to another but sometimes it awards us with some amazing and strong compositions.

I must admit that I had a loot of fun shooting this photographs and because of that I decided to write a “How To” article for all of you in the next days.

Al already add this first photograph to my wallpaper section so you can download it totally free as a HD Wallpaper.

Castell De La Popa (Stern Castle)

Filed in Photography | Travel Leave a comment

A few days ago I started looking for interesting places to visit. I was surprised when I found the Castle of Cir, relatively close to my home and judging by some photographs I saw it was an interesting place to visit.

The castle is known as “Castell de la Popa” (In English “Stern Castle”) for the curios rock formation where it was built. Isn’t it looking like a ship’s stern? Some others are even capable to see a face on the rock. It is located next to the village of Castellcir, Catalonia. It’s not known when it was exactly built, but in the year 1014 it was documented as “Castell Cir” for the first time. Before that, it appears in other documents with the name of “Castell de Tenes”.

Today it’s almost in ruins but in the other side of the castle the main building and some other parts of the walls are still up. The building that you can see from this photograph is the Sant Martí of the rock chapel. There are several legends concerning this castle but the most famous is one involving a secret tunnel to a distant tower named “Torrassa” where a big lamb statue made of gold was buried.
